Both eastbound lanes of the Caldecott Tunnel shutdown Friday just after 11 a.m. following a vehicle fire, with California Highway Patrol urging drivers to seek alternate routes due to heavy traffic.
The California Highway Patrol, Oakland Fire Department, and Moraga Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire inside Bore 2 of the Caldecott Tunnel which left no injuries. Bore 1 reopened just before noon, but officers are waiting for a tow truck to help clear out the damaged vehicle.
