Woman shares experience caring for husband with Alzheimer’s disease

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — For many people, an Alzheimer’s diagnosis brings fear of the unknown. But for Susan Black and her husband, it became their reality.

Black said it started just two weeks before her husband’s 50th birthday.

“It wasn’t the typical thing that people think of of where did I put my keys? I can’t find my glasses. That type of thing,” she said. “It was that we had a very in-depth conversation about something, and about an hour later he started with this same conversation and had no idea that we had just talked about it and come to some sort of a resolution.”…
