Richmond, Va (WRIC) — Today will feature a mixture of sun and clouds early in the morning with showers and thunderstorms developing from late morning through this evening.
Some of the storms could have some locally heavy downpours and one or two might have some gusty winds especially south of Richmond, closer to the Virginia North Carolina line. It will be a very warm and humid day with highs in the upper 80s. Overnight lows will be mild in the low 70s.
Sunday will be another very warm and humid day with seasonable highs in the upper 80s. We should see partly sunny skies for most of the day but run the risk for an isolated thunderstorm later in the afternoon.
Mostly sunny skies will return to Central Virginia for Monday, and it will be hot and humid with highs around 90.
Tuesday will be hotter with highs approaching 95 under sunny skies.
The core of the intense heat that we have been looking at will start to move in Wednesday and last through July 4th. We will see highs during that 4-day stretch in the upper 90s to near 100 with the heat index of 105 to possibly 110. It will remain dry and sunny during this 4-day stretch…
