DENVER (KDVR) — An early morning officer-involved shooting on Saturday left a suspect dead in Centennial.
Man arrested for alleged fight spree, throwing pots at Weld County deputies
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a report around 6:09 a.m. on Saturday in the 4700 block of East Caley Place concerning a person ‘acting suspiciously’ in a neighboring backyard.
According to the release, deputies arrived and found a man carrying a large metal pole. The preliminary investigation indicates that the man moved toward deputies while holding it, striking one.
Deputies reportedly attempted to tase the man; however, efforts were unsuccessful, as two deputies fired their weapons and struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene following attempted aid from paramedics and authorities.
