Man struck on US 36, westbound lanes closed for ‘extended period of time’

The westbound lanes of US Route 36 were closed after a pedestrian was struck on the highway east of Boulder around 3:45 p.m., Colorado State Patrol officials said Saturday evening.

The person was taken to the hospital and there are no updates on the person’s condition as of the release just before 6 p.m.

The initial investigation shows a Mercury Mountaineer SUV broke down in the center lane, according to the CSP release…
