DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado Department of Transportation officials and other first responders responded to a major crash on U.S. 36 westbound towards Boulder that involved a pedestrian.
According to CDOT, the closure is between 170 and Cherryvale Road at mile marker 41, and detours and delays were widely expected.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, troopers responded around 3:45 p.m. to the crash, which initial investigation shows that a Mercury Mountaineer SUV broke down in the center lane, prompting pedestrians to walk towards it on both shoulders.
Officials say that while pedestrians crossed over, a Honda CR-V traveling westbound in the same lane attempted to avoid the broken-down vehicle; however, the driver lost control as the vehicle swerved into the shoulder and struck a man, who has been hospitalized with unknown injuries…
