POWAY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Poway man is sharing his story after losing his family’s life savings in an elaborate phone scam that he believes used artificial intelligence to mimic his daughter’s voice.
Glen Givens said the scam began June 22 when he answered a call on his work phone from someone claiming to be a police officer. The caller said Givens’ daughter had been arrested after causing a serious traffic collision that injured a pregnant woman.
