Gonzales community raising money for family of six-year-old boy who died from meningitis

GONZALES — A son. A brother. A twin. A young life gone too soon. A Gonzales family is mourning the loss of six-year-old Raiden Scott, who died earlier this month, and now the community is rallying around them.

Raiden’s mother, Chassity Scott, told UWK her son, who was born with a bilateral cleft, started not acting like himself last week.

“He wasn’t himself, so I brought him to one hospital, and then said he had a crick in his neck,” she said. “So I took him to Children’s Hospital, and the doctor wouldn’t leave us. He was like, ‘Something is not right. I’m going to do some more tests and labs.’”…
