SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Hot and humid conditions will continue across the ArkLaTex through the upcoming week as a strong upper-level ridge keeps temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values climbing into the triple digits.
Saturday night will be clear and warm, with an overnight low near 78 degrees, several degrees above the seasonal average low of 72.
By Sunday afternoon, heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees across much of the region. Heat index values are forecast to reach 101 degrees in Shreveport and 102 degrees in Texarkana by 2 p.m. By 4 p.m., those values are expected to climb to 104 degrees in Shreveport and 103 degrees in Texarkana, making it feel as hot as 105 degrees in some locations…
