Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office boosts staff training, development

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Bossier Parish shares its deputies and officers are continually sharpening their skills through hands-on instruction, recertifications, and professional development designed to prepare them for the challenges of the job.

The department shared online patrol deputies recently completed Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, or EVOC, training.

The course included classroom instruction, hands-on driving exercises and certification designed to prepare deputies for emergency response situations.

Newly hired corrections deputies and officers also are working toward Louisiana POST Level III certification, according to the department. The training includes instruction on correctional facility operations, safety procedures and security practices used in detention facilities.
