Kansas Humane Society offers free pet ID tags ahead of July Fourth

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — In an effort to keep pets “safe and stylish” this Independence Day, the Kansas Humane Society is offering free engraved ID tags.

From Sunday to Friday, pet owners can visit the KHS Store during regular business hours to pick up a tag. Only simple tags will be offered; QR code tags will not be available.

“The 4th of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets,” the humane society wrote. “Loud fireworks can cause even the most well-behaved dogs and cats to become frightened and run away.”
