Heatwave Begins Wednesday
100 Degree Plus High Temperatures Thursday & Friday
The weather story for this week will be the developing heatwave and extreme heat they we will be experiencing. Ahead of this we have very warm and very humid conditions today. Satellite loops show very little in the way of cloud cover so we will have sunshine. Temperatures will be topping out in the middle to upper 80s away from the coast. An ocean wind will be keep shore areas cooler. Radars are nice and quiet and we do not expect to see any thunderstorms developing today. Most lows tonight will be in the 60s to around 70 degrees under mainly clear skies.
Tuesday we will see winds turn more south and southwest and this will allow temperatures to nudge up a little higher. We will see sunshine taking highs to the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. It will be a little cooler again along the immediate coast. We do see the chance that some pop up afternoon and evening storms will be in the mix but most of you likely will not see anything of consequence. Wednesday begins the very hot to extreme heat stretch that lasts through Saturday. Winds will go southwest Wednesday and then more west or even northwest Thursday and Friday. Humidity levels also will climb with dew points in the 70s. Wednesday highs will reach the mid to upper 90s. There is the risk for some pop up scattered storms late in the day into Wednesday evening.
