ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Drivers parking at metered spaces across Alexandria will pay more starting Wednesday as two changes approved by city council take effect July 1.
The hourly meter rate will rise to $2.75, up from $1.75, and the base fine for parking citations will increase to $55 per violation — the first hike to the standard penalty since 2007, when it went from $25 to $40.
