Crank up the air conditioning: Dangerous heat could make Northeast Ohio feel like 105

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Crank up the air conditioning and find a pool, because Northeast Ohio is about to turn dangerously hot.

The region’s first 90-degree temperatures of the year could arrive as early as Monday, kicking off a prolonged stretch of extreme heat and humidity that is expected to send heat index values above 105 degrees later this week, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

A heat advisory will be in effect from noon Tuesday through 8 p.m. Thursday across all of Northeast Ohio, including Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, Geauga, Summit, Portage, Medina and Ashtabula counties…
