HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An 18-year-old originally charged as a minor in a 2024 Horry County homicide is now facing adult murder charges after authorities said she tried to escape custody.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office booked Nashyiah Vereen on a murder charge Friday, jail records show.
Horry County police spokesperson Ashley Boles said Vereen was 16 when the agency first charged her in the 2024 homicide; at the time, she was processed as a minor.
