FIRST ALERT: Strawberry Moon, summer’s first full moon to rise tonight

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Look up! The June full moon, historically known as the “Strawberry Moon,” officially reaches its peak full phase Monday, June 29, at 7:57 p.m.

While that marks the exact moment of peak illumination, the moon will appear bright, round and full to the naked eye through Tuesday night.

Why Monday’s Moon Looks Different

This month’s full moon is unique because it will be the lowest-hanging full moon of the entire year.
