A Sacramento County man who sexually assaulted an international college student was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life in prison, the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Kevin Lemar Davis, 46, was convicted of forcible rape by a jury May 12. Sacramento Superior Court Judge Ernest Sawtelle sentenced Davis on Friday to 25 years to life in prison under California’s “three strikes” law. Davis has prior strike convictions for assault with a firearm in 1996 and 2018 and has previously served prison time, according to prosecutors.
According to the DA’s Office, Davis encountered the victim — a college student from Europe studying in the United States — at a gas station on Nov. 2, 2023. The victim was returning home from a conference by Greyhound bus and Amtrak train after being dropped off at the Greyhound station on Richards Boulevard at 2 a.m. She was trying to locate the Sacramento Valley Station on I Street to catch an Amtrak train home, prosecutors said…
