SF Archdiocese to pay $395 million and write every survivor an apology letter

The Archdiocese of San Francisco has reached a settlement of $395 million with approximately 537 survivors who allege they were victims of child sexual abuse at the hands of San Francisco clergy.

It is the largest settlement in a clergy abuse case that’s been discharged through bankruptcy.

“It’s a massive cleanup,” attorney Jeff Anderson said Monday. “An authentic reckoning by those that have allowed these indelible horrors to be inflicted upon so many for so long.”…
