As Americans celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, communities across Oklahoma are planning Independence Day events ranging from fireworks displays and parades to concerts, carnivals and lake celebrations.

Many celebrations begin the weekend before the Fourth of July and continue through the holiday weekend.

Here’s a look at some of the biggest events happening across the state.

Oklahoma City metro events

The Oklahoma City area offers celebrations throughout the week leading up to Independence Day.

  • Edmond LibertyFest (June 25-July 4): One of the nation’s longest-running Independence Day celebrations featuring multiple events across Edmond.
  • Stars & Stripes Regatta (June 27): Watch rowing and paddling competitions in the Boathouse District.
  • Stars & Stripes River Festival (June 27): A full day of outdoor activities and family fun in the Boathouse District.
  • Liberty Fireworks Bash (June 27): Fireworks and entertainment in Nicoma Park.
  • Family Freedom Fest (June 28): Family activities at The Bridge Church in Mustang.
  • Fireworks Spectacular (July 3): Fireworks at SaltCreek Casino in Pocasset.
  • Freedom Fest (July 3-4): Yukon celebrates with two days of entertainment, carnival rides and fireworks.
  • Red, White & Boom! (July 3): The Oklahoma City Philharmonic performs at Scissortail Park before a fireworks show.
  • Star-Spangled Nights (July 3-4): Frontier City combines thrill rides with nightly fireworks.

  • Bethany Boom (July 4): Evening fireworks in downtown Bethany.
  • Celebration in the Heartland (July 4): Moore hosts one of the state’s largest fireworks shows.
