BOISE—Thomas Spencer, 51, of Meridian, was sentenced today by the Honorable District Judge Annie McDevitt to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 40 years after pleading guilty to rape.
The case came to light January 21, 2026, when the FBI flagged a group on Telegram—an encrypted messaging app—where members shared videos of drugging and sexually assaulting victims while they were unconscious. The portion of evidence the FBI passed to local law enforcement included eight videos Spencer had posted, each documenting an assault on the victim. Investigators later recovered hundreds of additional videos from his phone, with evidence showing he had been sharing this content since 2019.
When investigators contacted the victim, she recognized herself, and Spencer, in the footage. She had no memory of what had happened to her.
