SD Humane Society offers free pet microchips before July 4th

SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI) –When the fireworks start popping the San Diego Humane Society’s phones start ringing, scared dogs and cats are known for bolting. Experts say the primal fear from a jump scare in the sky should not be underestimated.

“Pets that are even enclosed in a backyard can jump fences or tunnel out. When animals are stressed, they will go to extraordinary measures to get away,” said Jordan Frey from the SDHS.

So, the San Diego Humane Society sees this slow-moving predicable problem and are trying to get out ahead of the crush of stray dogs and cats headed their way and they are pitching a deal too good to pass up……
