Dearborn will crack down on illegal fireworks. A 10 p.m. curfew for kids under 17 goes into effect this Fourth of July weekend after two girls were hurt by fireworks last year.

Chief Issa Shahin wants people to have fun but won’t allow dangerous behavior. “While we want everyone to enjoy the holiday, we will not tolerate behavior that endangers others or disrupts our neighborhoods,” Shahin said, according to Arab American News. “Our officers will take appropriate enforcement action against anyone who violates the law.
