A Major Midwest Grocery Chain Is Opening a New Michigan Store

Meijer will open a new 75,000-square-foot grocery store in Livonia on Aug. 19, expanding its grocery-format footprint in Michigan. The store will join Meijer’s network of 125 supercenters and smaller-format grocery stores across Michigan.

Meijer to Open New Grocery Store in Livonia

The Livonia store will become Meijer’s fourth grocery-format location in Michigan. The announcement follows the opening of a 47,000-square-foot store in Rochester Hills in May. A new Meijer supercenter is currently being built in Plymouth Township. It is expected to open later this year.

The Livonia store will focus on fresh groceries, everyday essentials, and digital shopping services.

Maureen Mitchell is Vice President of the East Michigan Region for Meijer. She said they are excited to open their second Meijer Grocery store in Southeast Michigan this year. “These stores are designed to provide value and convenience to customers, right in the communities where they live and work each day.”…
