The founder of one of the world’s largest movie theater chains has sold his distinctive North Texas megamansion—complete with a 20-seat private cinema—in one of Dallas’ most exclusive neighborhoods.
On June 22, Lee Roy Mitchell, who founded Cinemark nearly a half-century ago, and his wife sold their home at 9769 Audubon Place in Dallas, according to The Real Deal. Kevin and Amanda Moore’s Living Trust is the new owner of the home located in the city’s affluent Preston Hollow neighborhood.
Mitchell listed the property for $22 million in September—the most expensive listing in the state that month, according to The Dallas Morning News. While the final sale price remains undisclosed, the asking price dropped to $18 million in January, according to the now-closed RedFin listing.
