While Wisconsin residents are dealing with a heat emergency that’s sent the heat index over 100, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s response has been complicated by a broken cooling system affecting dozens of buildings on campus.
Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Robert Cramer said a broken chilled water line has significantly reduced the university’s ability to cool certain buildings.
