Air quality alerts issued for many southern Colorado communities due to wildfire smoke

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Tuesday morning, health officials issued Air Quality Health Advisories for Fremont, Teller, Huerfano, Pueblo, El Paso, Lincoln, Elbert, Morgan, Washington and eastern Custer Counties.

The air quality alert was issued at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). The alert lasts through 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The air quality alert is in effect due to wildfire smoke making its way through southern Colorado. Multiple fires, including the ‘Aspen Acres Fire‘ and the ‘Big Sheep Fire,’ are spreading wildfire smoke through nearby communities…
