What could be more fitting for Independence Day Weekend than the debut of a new BBQ spot? Zee’s Barbecue is set to make its debut with a soft opening this Thursday, July 2, followed by its full opening on Tuesday, July 7.
Zee’s Barbecue, which started as a pop-up, will be located inside Foodie Labs (515 22nd St S). Run by a local duo that started their barbecue journey during the covid shutdown, Zee’s will feature wood-smoked brisket, pulled pork, sausage dogs, housemade BBQ sauces, and homestyle sides.
For owners Miles and Logan, the food is only half the fun. The business is named for Miles’ beloved pup, a German Shepherd named Zee. To honor Zee, a portion of every single sale is going to local shelters to help provide food, shelter and medical care for stray animals.
