Just days after an elderly man filed a $35 million claim against the city of San Diego after falling on an exposed parking meter base in Mission Hills, the city is taking action to make the street safer.
On Tuesday, NBC San Diego noticed city crews paving over the metal base of an old parking meter near the corner of West Washington Street and Albatross Drive.
It comes more than a year after the city removed the parking meter, leaving the raised base and bolts in the sidewalk.
