ROCKFORD, IL — An emergency C-section nearly derailed Alondra Evette Campos’ journey to earn a diploma through the Goodwill Excel Center’s adult high school.
But her second child, a daughter, was delivered and despite the challenges of motherhood and family, Campos was determined to earn her high school diploma. Now, she plans to attend Rock Valley College to become an EKG technician and embark on a new career.
“There were days where I felt exhausted, overwhelmed and unsure if I could keep going,” Compos said. “Balancing motherhood, responsibilities and school was not always easy, but I kept reminding myself why I started. I wanted to create a better future for myself and my children, and that motivation kept me moving forward.”…
