Operation Dry Water begins July 4th boating safety patrols Friday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — This weekend, law enforcement across the state will join a national effort to patrol local waterways for impaired boaters as they celebrate the Fourth of July.

Operation Dry Water, a year-round boating under the influence and enforcement campaign, will once again see its heightened awareness and enforcement take place this weekend, July 3-5.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife and Resources Agency, the July Fourth holiday normally means an increase in boater activity, meaning the agency will be on heightened alert for BUI infractions…
