Family still searching for Greensboro man Larry Burton 1 year since disappearance

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The family of 74-year-old Larry Burton has waited for answers since he disappeared from an unlicensed care facility in Greensboro 363 days ago.

Burton was reported missing on July 3, 2026, from HMF Family Home Care, sparking weeks of searches by police and the community. While the search has slowed, the family says their determination has not.

For Burton’s family, the pain of his disappearance did not fade over time, but it did strengthen their commitment to keep searching, keep asking questions and make sure Burton is not forgotten.

“This is what I didn’t want to do,” said Latonya Swift, Burton’s daughter.
