SOCASTEE, S.C. (WBTW) — Crews recently began clearing land along Peachtree Road near the Socastee swing bridge, where developers plan to build 145 single-family homes.
The construction comes after Horry County Council approved a request to rezone 47.4 acres in March 2025. The land is between Highway 544 and Carolina Bays Parkway.
The homes will be built on about 45.7 acres of the rezoned land. The development will have entrances on both Peachtree Road and Leisure Lane.
