Gifford could receive special designation to bridge gaps in resources

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County commissioners have approved a resolution supporting Gifford’s effort to become a Florida Children’s Initiative Community, a designation intended to help communities address poverty and improve access to services.

The resolution does not commit the county to providing funding or administrative support. Commissioners directed staff to add language clarifying the county’s responsibilities before approving the measure.
