POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Potter County Judge Nancy Tanner announced that a local Disaster and Outdoor Burning Ban has been placed on the county due to declining drought conditions and wildfire threat.
According to Potter County officials, Potter County Fire has responded to several fires in recent days, and despite recent rainfall, the danger is very real; wildfire risk is still extremely high.
Officials detailed that this ban does not prohibit outdoor cooking or the use of fireworks on private land with landowner approval. Residents are asked not to leave grills or smokers unattended and to have water available to extinguish any fires.
