NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Office of Inspector General released a detailed report alleging that a New Orleans Police Department officer committed payroll fraud and violated timekeeping policies for two years.
In the July 1 report, the OIG stated that the NOPD received a complaint that one of its officers engaged in fraud-related behavior between 2022 through 2024.
According to the complaint, the officer reportedly claimed excessive amounts of overtime on a routine basis despite there being evidence that those hours could have not physically been worked during those hours.
