Fort Bragg has set a date for the closure of the All American gate, rerouting traffic to other gates while crews replace the aging Gruber Road bridge and make road improvements.
The installation’s main gate will close at 5 a.m. Monday, July 27 and remain closed for about two years, according to a July 1 news release. The project includes replacing the 50-year-old Gruber Road bridge overpass.
“Upgrades are necessary and long overdue,” Col. Chad Mixon, Fort Bragg garrison commander, said in the release. “We know this will be a disruption to commuters, but it is a temporary inconvenience that increases safety and will improve long-term readiness.”…
