MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)– Tonight we stay dry, mild and muggy. Temperatures will dip into the mid and upper-70s. Thursday is another warm day with highs in the lower-90s at the coast, upper-90s inland. Another dry stretch expected, with lots of sunshine ending the work week.
High pressure moves through, creating a heat dome over much of the east coast. Temperatures begin warming on Thursday as high pressure, our heat dome, starts to build overhead. Highs will climb to around 90° at the beaches and the mid-90s inland, with feels-like temperatures approaching 100° in some locations.
By Friday and Saturday (Fourth of July), everyone will experience feels-like temperatures above 100°. Heat Advisories could be issued as early as Friday if the heat index reaches 105° for at least two consecutive hours. We’ll also be watching for the potential of an Extreme Heat Warning if the heat index exceeds 110°…
