WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A piece of Kansas was placed in a time capsule that celebrates America’s 250th birthday.
U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann said Wednesday that a Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library Challenge Coin was added to the capsule.
The coin joins contributions from all three branches of the federal government, all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories, according to the time capsule website.

Some of the other items in the capsule include an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a handheld commemorative American Flag from the 2026 Rose Parade and letters from young people across the country answering the question “What does America mean to you?”
The time capsule was sealed on June 15. It will be ceremonially buried on July 4 at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. It will stay in the park and remain closed until 2276, which is another 250 years from now…
