Both directions of Raeford Road near Ireland Drive in Fayetteville will shut down starting July 13. N.C. Department of Transportation crews found an old culvert buried more than 20 feet deep. They need to remove it before installing a new drainage pipe.
The closure will last about two weeks. Workers came across the buried culvert while using boring equipment to install a larger drainage pipe for Buckhead Creek under the roadway.
