CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids police say every major crime category tracked by the department declined during the first six months of 2026 compared with both last year and the city’s five-year averages.
According to crime statistics released Thursday, the city recorded no homicides between Jan. 1 and June 30, down from two during the same period in 2025 and below the five-year average of four.
