NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As thousands of visitors head to New Orleans for the Essence Festival of Culture and the Fourth of July holiday, state and local officials are urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and plan a safe ride home.
Law enforcement agencies say this holiday weekend is consistently one of the deadliest times of the year for impaired driving. Police and Louisiana State Police will have extra officers on patrol with zero tolerance for drunk driving.
