Doylestown man caught after admitting Kohl’s theft, saying he ‘lost everything,’ police say

Warminster Township Police said a Doylestown man admitted to stealing clothing and accessories from Kohl’s after officers stopped him outside the store, telling police he had “lost everything” and had nothing left.

Jason Michael Kohler, 45, was charged with felony retail theft and felony receiving stolen property following the incident last month at Kohl’s on West Street Road, according to a criminal complaint.

Police were dispatched to the department store around 5:15 p.m. for a retail theft in progress after receiving a report that a man was cutting security tags from merchandise. Officers arriving at the scene spotted Kohler walking near the store’s exit and detained him for a show-up identification…
