An overnight shooting before 2 a.m. Friday left visible damage to a home in the 900 block of W. Illinois Avenue, near S. Gaines Street, in Southern Pines. One of the bullets also apparently sparked a small fire.
After officers arrived and began investigating the shooting, they requested the fire department respond to the scene for a structure fire believed to have been caused by one of the bullets.
When Moore County News arrived at the scene Friday morning, multiple evidence markers could be seen in the roadway in front of the home. MCN also observed shattered glass from the home’s front door and damage to the residence.
