DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – Decatur Utilities crews say they’ve identified the cause of a major power outage that impacted more than 10,000 customers across a large portion of the city.
DU previously said the outage affected customers served out of the Decatur Primary Substation. In an update, DU reports crews isolated the issue at the Cedar Lake Primary Substation and found the cause was a large snake that infiltrated the substation and came into contact with energized equipment.
