Last minute deferral delays vote on Highway 905 development

CONWAY, S.C. — Over 100 Horry County residents showed up at Thursday’s Horry County Planning Commission to voice their opposition to a proposed new development in the Highway 905 area just north of Conway.

But just before the commission’s vote on the project, the developer asked to defer it to the next meeting.

The development agreement in question proposes building 372 new homes near the intersection of Highway 905 and Old Reaves Ferry Road. The 186.84-acre tract fronts both roads and is behind the Horry County Schools building on the corner…
