Syracuse Mets help fans beat triple-digit heat at NBT Bank Stadium

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Fans packed NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse despite temperatures climbing into the mid-90s and a heat index topping 100 degrees, prompting many to adjust how they spent a summer night at the ballpark.

Before first pitch, a temperature gun showed just how hot conditions had become. One stadium seat registered 109 degrees.

To help fans stay cool, the Syracuse Mets set up cooling and misting stations, allowed fans to move into shaded seating areas, and permitted extra water bottles, portable fans, misters and umbrellas inside the stadium…
