Grocery Outlet begins ‘Independence from Hunger’ campaign

The belief that no one should go hungry has fueled a nearly two-decade-long effort by a California-based company with a Newberg location.

Grocery Outlet began its 16th-annual “Independence from Hunger” campaign locally on June 24 at its location at the intersection of the Portland and Villa roads.

The campaign will continue through July 31 with the promise by the store’s owners that all donations will go directly to a local food assistance agency to combat food insecurity in the community, in this case FISH Emergency Services and the Bruin Community Pantry at George Fox University…
