A Clayton County renter says she’s been living without central air conditioning since Easter, forcing her to spend her own money to keep her apartment cool as temperatures climb.

Kimberly Smarr says it was 86 degrees inside her apartment Friday morning and only getting hotter. She said it got so hot on Wednesday that she passed out while taking a shower.

“It has been devastating,” Smarr said. “At my age, I am menopausal, so I’m already on fire most of the time.”…
