Lakeland DoorDash Driver Flees Hit-And-Run, Admits It Was A “Stupid” Decision

LAKELAND, Fla. — A DoorDash delivery run ended in a trip to jail Thursday night after a Lakeland man allegedly crashed into a parked car and tried to flee the scene on foot.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Douglas Skuba following the incident, which unfolded around 9:44 p.m. on July 2, 2026.

Deputies initially responded to the Village Lakeland neighborhood, located just off Reynolds Road, after receiving reports of a hit-and-run. According to a witness at the scene, a white Chevy Spark slammed into a parked vehicle before speeding away…
