FEMA approves $792K to Horry County for Arcadian Shores restoration after Hurricane Ian

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – FEMA has approved $792,108 for Horry County tied to Arcadian Shores Beach recovery work following Hurricane Ian, according to a FEMA release.

FEMA said the money is being provided through its Public Assistance program, which helps state and local governments pay for eligible response and recovery work. FEMA said projects are funded at no less than a 75% federal cost share.

Horry County spokesperson Thomas Bell said the $792,108 is not a reimbursement for costs the county has already paid. Bell said it is an estimate of damages specific to Hurricane Ian at Arcadian Shores…
